I've been waiting for new music from Harry Styles since the moment his tour ended last summer, and the time is finally here. Over two years since Harry launched his solo career with his debut single, "Sign of the Times," it's clear that he's preparing for a new era with his latest single, "Lights Up." Not only did he give us a song to cry to, but he also made a music video - because if anyone knows what the people want, it's Harry. Whether you've lost track of how many times you've already watched the music video (like me) or this is the first you're hearing of it, here are my reactions to the music video for Harry Styles' new song, "Lights Up": Ok, one second in and I already have questions for Harry. The first being, "How dare you?" I can't believe he invented curly hair and tattoos, I'm so proud of him. Apparently I missed the "Hold onto Harry Styles while he looks like a Greek god in a music video" job posting on LinkedIn. The beat dropped and now he's in the ocean, didn't anyone ever tell him not to swim at night? Now he's on the back of a motorcycle without a helmet doing the Dirty Dancing pose, clearly unconcerned for his safety or my emotional well-being. Me trying to figure out who gave Harry the right to make this: I love when Harry sings "I'm sorry by the way" because he should be apologizing for the distress he's putting me through with these visuals. I have no words. OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT HE'S GIVING OFF MAJOR LEO IN TITANTIC VIBES RIGHT NOW. If Harry was trying to make me cry by singing, "All the lights couldn't put out the dark runnin' through my heart", then he succeeded. Me thinking about Harry feeling sad and writing the lyrics, "Lights up and they know who you are... do you know who you are?": Harry: "Shine, step into the light... shine, so bright sometimes" Me: Don't look at me with that tone. IS THIS "SIGN OF THE TIMES" THROWBACK NECESSARY?? Don't laugh at me, Harry, this has been a tumultuous two minutes. Me getting emotional at Harry singing, "La da da da da": Prove to me this isn't the pose of a Renaissance sculpture. Harry, stop looking at me (keep looking at me.) THE NEW HARRY IN A (PROBABLY GUCCI) SUIT STARING AT HIS OLD SELF SINGING, "I'M NOT EVER GOING BACK" - SOME POINTS WERE MADE! Jumping from such a dramatic shot to sticking his tongue out? It's called range, look it up. Harry asking, "Do you know who you are?" while staring into the camera... like, yeah, I know who I am, your bitch. Well! You've made it to the end of my recap, so if you'll excuse me I'm going to go watch this music video on repeat until I have it burned into my memory.
