Just when I was recovering from my post-concert depression, the Jonas Brothers have decided to pull me back in with a new song called "Lonely." They're not ~lonely~ on this song though - it was produced by Diplo, the famous DJ/wedding crasher/frenemy of the Jo Bros. Diplo gained some attention earlier this week after "hacking" the Jonas Brothers Instagram account, which actually all turned out to be secret marketing for this new song because if the Jonas Brothers know one thing it's how to play with my emotions. Anyway! I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this collab because, let's be real, if the Jonas Brothers are credited on a song then they're the only ones getting my attention (sorry Diplo), but "Lonely" is really good. Like, really good. To make this song even better, we've been gifted with a music video to accompany it. As we're treated to the angelic voices of the brothers Jonas, we also get to see them dodging phone calls and text messages from an apologetic Diplo, who's trying to get in contact with Joe after infamously live-streaming his Las Vegas wedding to Sophie Turner to the entire world. If you haven't watched the music video or even listened to the song yet, you can do that here and then come back to me. Ok, now that we're on the same page, let's break this all down: First of all, how dare Diplo steal my signature move of dramatically staring out the window while thinking about the Jonas Brothers: Me being impressed when the Jonas Brothers start singing as though I haven't been listening to their music for over a decade: I don't have Joe Jonas' phone number or know how to ride a horse but this is such a mood: Wow, I love the holy trinity: Nick: "I think you should be alone with me, cause we don't have to be lonely" Me: Nick said lose this number or I'm alerting the authorities: "Hey Joe, sorry I ruined a very important moment for you, here's a bucket of melon." Oh, he liked it! If I knew the way to Joe Jonas's heart was an Edible arrangement I could have saved myself years of crying to "When You Look Me In The Eyes." Nick Jonas surrounded by musical instruments and twinkle lights? Ok, who's been reading my dream journal. The Jonas Brothers thinking about having to be lonely: Does anyone else think this looks like a scene from Gossip Girl? "You know you love me... xoxo, Diplo." I'm pretty sure Kevin has just been playing guitar and minding his business this entire time which is actually a good description of Kevin Jonas at all times. I can't believe Joe made this face without expecting me to nominate him for an Academy Award: Imagine getting a FaceTime request from the Jonas Brothers? The closest I've gotten is when they posted a number to text them so I did and then I realized I played myself and actually signed up for text promotions. I love how Diplo took the time to pull this smoldering photo of Joe from the Internet to set as his contact picture: If you know there's a possibility that the Jonas Brothers might call you then you should have a phone charger on stand-by at all times, what are you even doing, Diplo? *Record scratch* *Freeze frame* Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation: Well, you made it to end of the music video, so whether the Jonas Brothers and Diplo have truly made up or not (or if their "fight" was even all that real to begin with), at least we know this song is a hit. The only thing that could have made this better would have been a guest cameo from Queen Sophie herself: (All credit for photos pulled from the music video goes to whoever owns the rights to the music video, I have no money so please don't sue me @Jonas Brothers @Diplo @YouTube)
